Introduction Nabingeke village is the next village that life skills program was to be extended to since it is near bukudomira Primary School and most pupils from that village go to that school. Life skills program is also taught in the community to promote positive interactions between the parents and the pupils so that there is change among both pupils and children in the community hence leading to good citizens in future. Overview When Manuela reached the village she found all the community leaders waiting for her since she had called them before she started her journey, they well come her and gave her a sit, Manuela greeted them and told them her reasons for coming in that village. As the community members where carefully listening to Manuela, she started introducing her self, she also told them what is Life Skills, she said that it refers to the process of adopting positive behavior that enables an individual to overcome daily challenges in the community where they live. She went on and also explained to them all the topics and the lessons under each topics. While addressing the community leaders, Manuela told them under life skills curriculum, there are five topics, HIV/AIDS awareness, Decisions Making, Communication Skills, Relationship Skills and Adolescent and Puberty stage. She went on and said that there are many lessons under theses topics for example How is HIV transmitted, How is HIV prevented, disease Progression, History of the HIV in Uganda and among others. As she was still explaining to the community members, she said even under decisions making, there are steps in making good decisions, early pregnancy, Alcohol and drug use, Menstruation period and management and among others. She said that, they will get to know as they go on learning this lesson. After that Manuela gave the community leaders chance to react to her session. One of the leader asked Manuela that for how long will that class take , Manuela said that it’s suppose to take only nine months but sometimes they spend most of the time in school it make the class to last up to12 month. Another one just appreciated Kibo and Manuela for this program, after that Manuela asked the leaders that basing on her explanation which topic should they start with? They said Decision making due to the current problems that they are facing with their children, then date was sat on Wednesday every week. Finally, Manuela was happy due to the hospitality they showed her on that day.
