Notes
David was in the village and his intention of going there was to follow up on the new facility constructions and their standardization. When David reached the village he was welcomed by the eight sanitation committee members . Since it was the Kibo,s first field visit before the Christmas holiday, David wished them a happy good new year 2020. Later David requested the members to give him a brief report about how they had been progressing. They reported that during the holidays when the Kibo staff were away they got some money,s from their small savings and about five members used that money and they started the construction of their latrine wall constructions. Mr kalori also gave his brief other report saying that they had visited in some different districts but they admired the way how the communities had protected the different boreholes .Kalori said that they had used brick wall fences to protect the boreholes. After the two brief reports ,David reacted on the two reports by saying that the Kibo staff was once again back into their village. Therefore he reminded everyone through the committee members that they should resume their usual sanitation improvements work. David also thanked the five members who had used their saving money to construct slubs on top of their finished dug pits . David encouraged them to work hard by completing the construction of their latrine shelters before the next rainy season. David encouraged the members to start collecting the bricks for the brick wall fence construction. He encouraged them that they would all do it . They said they will even start to collect the bricks sooner .On addition to that the committee members led David to where the Kibo borehole was because they wanted David to asses the status of the borehole. At the borehole David discovered that whatever they had reported to him during the holidays was true . Because the borehole was not working efficiently reason being the pedestal was broken. Internally one of the rods was also broken due to the too much pressure of the many people who had used the borehole during the Christmas holidays. David promised the committee members, that they will be getting time to open the borehole to get to know the way forward from there.Towards the end of David,s home to home movements he assessed that the village was missing some improvements before the second survey.
